World Bicycle Day 2023

World Bicycle Day is celebrated annually on June 3rd. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in April 2018 to fete the oneness, life, and versatility of the bike as a simple, affordable, dependable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation.

The bike has multitudinous benefits for health and the terrain. Regular physical exertion of moderate intensity – similar to walking or cycling – has significant benefits for health. Safe structure for walking and cycling can also give a form of transport for the poorest civic sector while reducing the threat of heart complaints, stroke, certain cancers, diabetes, and indeed death.

World Bicycle Day draws attention to these benefits and encourages stakeholders to emphasise and advance the use of the bike as a means of fostering sustainable development, strengthening education, promoting health, precluding complaint, promoting forbearance, collective understanding and respect and easing social addiction and a culture of peace.


World Bicycle Day is celebrated by lawyers in numerous countries. The day is used to promote the use of the bike as a means of eradicating poverty, incubating sustainable development, strengthening education, promoting health, precluding complaint, and easing social addiction and a culture of peace.


The COVID- 19 epidemic has changed transport requirements and  egged numerous metropolises to re-evaluate their transportation systems. As part of efforts to “ make back better ”, cycling is pitched as a healthy, green and provident transport volition.


The World Health Organization laboriously promotes cycling for its myriad benefits to health and the terrain, including adding physical exertion, reducing non-infectious conditions similar to cancer and diabetes, and dwindling air and noise pollution.


You can share in World Bicycle Day by organising or joining a bike lift at the public or original position. You can also promote the use of bikes in your community and advocate for safe structure for walking and cycling.
